Twitter Seethes With #BanTikTokInIndia Messaging As Inappropriate Videos Featuring Pre-Teens Go Viral; Users Seek Intervention From I&B Minister
While the country battles with the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, a yet another shocking news has emerged on our newsfeeds from the past few days. We are talking about the video-sharing application of TikTok, which has been at the receiving end of criticism ever since the Carry Minati controversy. Yesterday, a shocking video of TikToker Faizal Siddiqui allegedly endorsing acid attack had gone viral, bringing him a lot of hatred and legal trouble. Ever since then, several users on social media have been digging out some of the other inappropriate TikTok videos that either see pre-teen children shooting for romantic sequences or kids promoting rape and animal cruelty.

One such viral video that features an underage girl and a boy, who are apparently siblings, has them lip-syncing to a Dhadkan's romantic track and getting a little intimate. This video, among several others, has brought a lot of flak for TikTok, as people from across the country are trending #BanTikTokInIndia with a whopping number of tweets. A lot of them have also urged their followers to report the app and leave negative comments. The user who shared the video also tagged India's Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javdekar, to intervene and take action against the same. Another such disturbing video sees three kids, including a girl, glorify the rape culture and it has brewed a storm across.

A user wrote, "This is what TIK TOK is teaching our kids. @PrakashJavdekar ji Please Ban TikTok. RT if you agree they are spoiling INDIAN culture. #BanTikToklnlndia," while another tweeted, "Tik tokiyas are glorifying Acid attacks. Domestic violence. Rapes. Animal cruelty. In the name of content. What kind of influencer are they? Don't you think they should be banned? #BanTikToklnlndia."
